Supping with the beloved on an important anniversary.
A nod to Kierkegaard and Walker Percy: existentialist tomfoolery, political satire, literary homage, word mongering, a year-round summer reading club, Dylanesque music bits, apocalyptic marianism, poetry, fiction, meta-porn, a prisoner work-release program.

A good man is especially hard to find in certain neighborhoods.
Cf. Genesis 18
Best Catholic movie since Seven.
If you mean Pacific Rim, I’m inclined to agree.
One thing I love about this blog is that the tags are 30 times longer than the post content. Just as cryptic though.
“Words of House” is my favorite. The entire post is a splendidly overachieving expression of what might be meant by Flannery Oh!.
Think clean thoughts, chum.
Did Robert Lowell?

What would Endo say?
“Scandal!”
We’re all adults here. I’m sure Flannery would understand that what Muriel and I have is something totally different.
Perhaps relevant, but I do not recommend reading “A Good Man is Hard to Find” immediately prior to family road trips. Although, it does provide an excellent reason to not stop or take any unplanned detours.
Also a good reason not to travel with cats, or with prissy geriatrics who might be harboring them.
