This one’s for Wendell…
A nod to Kierkegaard and Walker Percy: existentialist tomfoolery, political satire, literary homage, word mongering, a year-round summer reading club, Dylanesque music bits, apocalyptic marianism, poetry, fiction, meta-porn, a prisoner work-release program.

I think that Wendell and Milton might spend purgatory together.
“I think you should see a doctor.”
Yeah, and not a proctologist, either.
The guy with the cane, or the author of the cartoon?
On a related note, three years ago when I turned fifty I had the routine colonoscopy. I was heavily drugged, but conscious and at one point I expressed some discomfort. The doctor, who was obviously gay, complained that my colon was too twisty. Of course, I joked about all the guys in prison saying that. All the nurses laughed and then caught themselves because the doctor wasn’t amused. Classic moment on so many levels even under heavy sedation.
Maybe Angelico can remind me if I’ve told that story before.
