Thom Caraway, author of What the Sky Lacks, teaches at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington, where he is the editor of Rock & Sling, a journal of witness. His work has been published in Sugar House Review, Smartish Pace, North Dakota Quarterly, Ruminate, Relief, and elsewhere. Thom was also named Spokane’s first Poet Laureate, which came with many fewer free drinks than he’d anticipated, but many more great friends. He is also a regular designer of things generally bookish and sometimes arty. He is the founding Editor of Sage Hill Press, Spokane’s longest-running independent small press. He generally appreciates bold display type and sans serifs of all origins.
