A nod to Kierkegaard and Walker Percy: existentialist tomfoolery, political satire, literary homage, word mongering, a year-round summer reading club, Dylanesque music bits, apocalyptic marianism, poetry, fiction, meta-porn, a prisoner work-release program.

Like Bob Dylan said in his speech–I’m not sure what your above words mean. 🙂 But I love Bob Dylan’s speech, which I’ve never read before. It makes perfect sense to a writer like me. Words and music come from so many objects and situations, all in connection with each other. That connection with a particular breathing human life is what Art is, and what makes an artist like Bob Dylan great.
Kate!
So good to hear from you!
No, the above funnin’ is not a knock against Dylan winning the Nobel – just a homage to a fellow around your parts – a certain post office worker from Oxford, Miss, who managed to win the “Big One” as well…
JOB
Well, he did write long sentences, didn’t he? Looking forward to seeing you again at Notre Dame, Joseph!
Friggin’ awesome, Bully. I mean, the comedian, okay … but the rhyme!
Trouble. Kind of.

Do you know the deadline for entering each year?
Sorry about that comment. A lot of people seem to have suffered from bad dentists so I’m surprised more isn’t said explicitly about it so that others won’t make the same mistake.
