Two Faces of the Sásq’ets
For some, folkloric kitsch,
for others, Gigantopithecus
blacki, a Bering land bridge
migrant who’s still with us.

Hiking in the Blue Mountains
Sitting on a log, I heard
a footfall behind me stop. I rose
slowly, turned and saw
the Sásq’ets, stinking and pilose …
