Literary Progeria in the Works of Flannery O’Connor and William Faulkner

YouTube thought I would like this video, and I do, but mostly because it has given me the name of Conan’s senior thesis. (at 18:44)

  1. Angelico Nguyen, Esq., OP says:

The stripes on James Lipton’s dress-shirt appear to be… horizontal.

  2. Matthew Lickona says:

    Fantastic tag.

    • It could happen. Think what a change we’d be from the people with whom he usually surrounds himself.

(sets table, pours wine, waits for self-deprecating response from the Lickona sector)

      • Matthew Lickona says:

I saw him at this party last week that Angelico got me into, and he said he would sooner go on a 40-day pop culture fast than sit in some undersized warren in a Louisiana library and listen to a third-rate wannabe yammer on about some old Southern author and his relationship to pornography.

        • Matthew Lickona says:

He did, however, ask me if a search was possible.

        • Angelico Nguyen, Esq., OP says:

Sure sure; I, too, would ‘sooner go on a 40-day pop culture fast than sit in some undersized warren in a Louisiana library and listen to a third-rate wannabe yammer on about some old Southern author and his relationship to pornography’. But that — wherever it came from — is not the point.

The point is: Maybe he’d want to meet up with us in New Orleans.

  3. Angelico and Lickona see him at parties.

    Farrell does a better Lipton.

  4. Quin Finnegan says:

I watched the first 20 minutes or so and marveled at the way he teased Lipton, especially for the blue cards. I don’t know if those nonsense skits work quite as well as he seems to think they do, but he’s both funny and smart and I’m envious as hell. Green to his red, as it were.

  5. I’ll never understand this fascination with pop stars.

Well, gotta go; it’s nearly lunch time – beans straight from the can. Again. Warmed over a sterno unit. Again.

But, you know, the protein helps me dig this hole I call home a little deeper.
