When they write the history of Korrektiv Press, the Kollektiv’s involvement with the Walker Percy Center will surely occupy a pivotal position. From the never-written memoir of our visit to the opening of the Center, to our grand entrance upon the Percy landscape at the Center’s first conference, to what really ought to be the Kollektiv’s first-ever universal convocation, the fortunes of the one have been rather fancifully intertwined with those of the other. Gerasene ’13 in New Orleans. Rally, Kollektiv, rally!
Best. Tag. Ever.
And I intend to speak on Walker Percy and David Foster Wallace.
Feel the synergy.
Will there be footnotes?
Probably, if you don’t use up Korrektiv’s footnote quota; I’m considering a small-print digression on the morality/ethics of eating crawfish.
Morality/ethics? Just start with technique and work from there.
Spoken like a true thrall of the Iron Crown.
I should mention here that technique is tied to morality, as my wife declined to wear the “peel me, pinch me, eat me” shirts favored by some of the waitstaff at the Cajun restaurant where she slung beers and poured shots for KC med students.
Ah, now I see. Not this, then, after all.
And yes, good on The Wife — a sign of contradiction and a light for the upright, God bless her. The invitations and/or imperatives cataloged on those shirts are to be made only to one’s spouse.
“The Lonely Self: Man (and Woman) Lost in the Cosmos”
That parenthetical is tempting.
Give in.
Expat, will you write a paper and let me present every other line of it?
Yes. A thousand times, yes.
I would speak, but the women would go crazy. Would tear my close off, and all that.
Oh Big Jon, we know that.
He’s very clean.
As my daughter would say:
I don’t like this. I love it.
And you’ve already done most of the homework!
A whole slew of bad links there. Where’s our webmistress?
Bad as in causing uncomfortable silences? Or bad as in broken?
It’s the old issue of links to blog entries at korrektiv.org going nowhere. I.e., the links in some of the entries here: http://korrektivpress.com/?s=k101
More specifically, here: http://korrektivpress.com/2007/05/k101-lost-in-the-cosmos-week-1-recap/
Bad as in broken.
The past is broken. The future is fixed.
‘I am the one who clicks!’
…is the title of my first album, coming to you in LP and cassette form next year, Kickstarter-be-willing.
Okay, I fixed some of the links automagically. The others work if you remove the “.html” from the end. Any Korrektiv member who’s reading this has the power to do so. (Edit the post with the broken link to remove the “.html” from the end of the link.) Or I can do so…another time.
Will the album be available on the Korrektiv’s store page?
