Them thar godless libruls at NPR done reported on the cleared path to canonization for Kateri Tekakwitha. Cain’t find a link, but I done did heard it on the wireless while I was driving my horseless carriage.

A nod to Kierkegaard and Walker Percy: existentialist tomfoolery, political satire, literary homage, word mongering, a year-round summer reading club, Dylanesque music bits, apocalyptic marianism, poetry, fiction, meta-porn, a prisoner work-release program.

Thanks, Bill! Much obliged.
I listen to God’s voice while I drive.
You don’t even drive.
At least not any more.
You can still listen while you walk!
Perfect perfection, Churchill.
In college, one of my gringa-heathen friends expressed puzzlement at finding ‘Kateri’ on a list of Iroquois names. Why, she wondered, would a version of the Christian name ‘Catherine’ be considered an Iroquois name, since ‘the Iroquois were not Christian’? Thus began a short but profitable discussion of the catholicity of Catholicism. Blessed Kateri made it possible.

I’ve seen this one before.
By the way, thanks for the Dappled Things, but why was I sent one of the eight with the damaged pages? ‘These eight have bad first or last pages.’
Or who are these other seven? I suppose one’s for you. Who are the other six?
Hi Churchill,
Can you explain further? I’m not sure I understand what you mean. Was the issue damaged? Or it said somewhere in the issue that it had bad “first or last pages”? I’ve never heard of anything like that before, and if something like that is happening, I’d like to check with our printer what is going on. What was the edition that had this problem?
But, thanks, the labels were numbered.
Although I haven’t had much time yet to read the cautionary tales inside.
I’ll be danged, it shore is mighty im-por-tan-te to affect a Mason jar full o’ accent when writin’ ’bout them thar librulls at the En Pee Arr, right down the road from the A and P.
(I ran out of apostrophes.)
‘Southern Expat’ isn’t me, in case there is another viewer. I’m only Churchill. I have no other persona.
Southern Expat: You have been disavowed.
