Outside the Campus Dental Clinic

For some reason I was standing there,
Behind this older female faculty chair,
And watched her pluck a strand of hair.
It was with such casual intent
That thumb and forefinger went
Right to where they were meant,
But it took her another try or two
To find get the perfect one, to do
What she intended to,
Which was to use it, boss,
For dental floss.

  2. Nice one, Potter.

    This, in particular:

    That thumb and forefinger went
Right to where they were meant,

As a side note, I find the plastic wrap from a cigarette pack the perfect ad hoc dental hygenic. Of course, it is best to undertake such proceedings outside the public eye…

    JOB

Thanks JOB. Good tip, too. I’ll remember that the next time I’m looking for a floss substitute amongst the debris in my car.

Maybe consider “To get that chosen strand to do”

Otherwise, perfect. The sort of poem that slips into those hard to reach places and ferrets out emotions you didn’t know were there…
