Well, now.

So I’m driving First Son to school this morning, and who should I hear on NPR’s Morning Edition but Uncle Terry? Woot!

Then I had the boy read Psalm 50 aloud:

Have mercy on me, God, in your goodness; in your abundant compassion blot out my offense.
Wash away all my guilt; from my sin cleanse me…

That's a great show. We should hold a Korrektiv Summit in Austin someday and get your uncle to front us some tix.

I'm interested in the psycho-spiritual dynamic that led you to have your son read Psalm 50 after hearing your uncle on the radio. Fascinating.

I mean, I think I grok it, is what I'm saying. I'm onto your superfreak Catholic ways.

Hey, do you still say three HMs with the cold water running? I dig it man. Seriously. Not trying to give you a hard time.

  4. Matthew Lickona says

I wish I had a more interesting psycho-spiritual dynamic. I had already selected that Psalm for our morning drive.

Yeah, I still do the three Hail Marys under cold. The world is too much with me.

  5. Rufus McCain says

"I had already selected the Psalm…"

There! That's exactly what I mean!

  6. You serious? I heard this today and wondered!

  7. Dorian Speed says

AUSTIN IS NOT FAR FROM HERE.

  8. Jonathan Webb says

I think we were all listening to NPR this morning and thought the same thing.

  9. Matthew Lickona says

Bernardo – yes, I'm serious. That's my dad's brother. Dorian, Jonathan, Rufus: it seems pretty clear that the Spirit is moving here…

Further: I have an invitation for Gerasene in Brownsville…

  10. Sorry, I didn't get to hear. – I was listening to Moby Dick on tape – and switching over to Mike & Mike in the Morning (ESPN) to catch something (anything!) on the upcoming anticipated bitch-slap NY is going to put on Dallas this Sunday….
