The Korrektiv Summer Reading Klub Flip Flops

In a startling about-face and rejection of the democratic process, the Korrektiv Summer Reading Klub will be tagging along with Lickona et al. in a reading of Ron Hansen’s new novel, Exiles.

Find a copy at your local library or buy a copy from Amazon or visit your local, dying independent bookseller.

Also, pay a visit to Inside Catholic for the low down there.

Following Hansen’s book, in a continuing rejection of the democratic process, we’ll read Love in the Ruins by Walker Percy.

After that we’ll revisit our list: The Message in the Bottle, The Habit of Being, The End of the Modern World, Garff’s Kierkegaard, Violence and the Sacred, etc.

  1. Matthew Lickona says

Democracy is so totally overrated. Welcome to the occupation. Seriously, I’m honored that you bright young things are willing to come along and class up the joint…

  2. Cubeland Mystic says

I still have to read Percy don’t I?

The good thing is, I have exiles on the shelf. I was going to read it in the fall, but I will speed up the process.

  3. cm,

    It’s mandatory.

  4. So long as this doesn’t mean that Matthew rules the world I will go along with it. I only wish you had made the decision a few days earlier when I placed my last order with amazon, would have saved me some shipping charges.

If I decide after I read it that I really don’t like it, do I get to blame Matthew? (as if that is likely)

Looks like I need to take a trip to the bookstore . . . darn.
