You know, anyone from any Western tradition faith could appreciate the radical call to faith in Fear and Trembling–on Father Abraham, after all–if they would read it.

Rufus seems to have peeled this quote from a BBC News article of Nov. 30, 2006. He got the wrong spelling right, but ommitted a quotation mark. In the BBC article the quote read: “‘We spit on the tomb of Jesus’ S Kikeerguard”. This, reportedly, the content of a protester’s sign before the Pope’s arrival in Turkey.
