I’ve often been curious what religion Horowitz is. In the editorial reviews at Amazon, he is said to have been heavily influenced by Pascal.
Interestingly enough, both your books deal with life and death; the analogy of Swimming with Scapulars is pretty comparable to his direction toward death in literature. All that’s missing is the toy shark… 😀
Whatever his religion, the two covers reflect a similar metaphysical worldview, at least from where I’m sitting.
That aside, he could simply be ripping you off. Or he might be a quirky Jaws fan. Heehee. Good of you to look at it as flattery.

Finished the book last night at midnight. I’ll probably read through it again. You introduced me to a few things Catholic I did not know or got lost in the over-flow of the OCIA/RCIA process.
Overall, I really enjoyed it – got one of the best laughs out of me that I’ve had in a while. I hope a lot of people read it. Whatever you feel like you may miss in interacting with people, you make up for it in this book. Some people are chanting “The Cafeteria is Closed” with Pope Benedict XVI. You give the same message but with the love that we all (should) know lies therein.

I don’t think Horowitz is ripping me off. If anything, Horowitz’s jacket designer is borrowing from my jacket designer. It ain’t about me, that’s for sure.
So glad you enjoyed the book! I do try not to swing the hammer. My old Jesuit confessor used to quote some saint or other: “Do I not conquer my enemy when I make him my friend?”
