The Ordeal of Hannah Horvath?

untitledLena Dunham on line one, Mr. Pinfold…

IRL she’s a generation’s gutsy, ambitious voice, author, showrunner, and star of the HBO hit Girls. But on TV and the web she becomes “a girl who careens between wisdom and ignorance,” a girl whose delusions have brought her here, to the shadowy realm of Decreased Stigma

Man, we might have to consider the possibility of a connection between these two seemingly disparate realms of human activity. On one hand, she’s outspoken, provocative … even gutsy. On the other hand, an ever-blooming idiot. Kind of like …

    Me.

Without the fame and the bank account, of course. And public access genitalia. Other than that, exactly the same.

    • We have GOT to make it to the Guemes Summit this year. And you have to got to start publishing more.

      • Quin Finnegan says:

Yes, so long as we all understand that now _this is publishing_. You know it. I know it. Now we must come to terms with it. Or at least I must.

The request has been put to the parents, and we should have possible dates before too long. It’s somewhat complicated by the fact that they live there full time now, or practically. They also like to travel, so it shan’t be a problem.

        • Oh heck, all’s I meant was, the Kollektiv has gone too long without gathering. We saw each other, in one form or another, for a good number of years there: 2014 in Guemes, 2013 in New Orleans, 2012 in Soldiers Grove, 2011 in New Orleans, even a few of us in 2010 New Orleans and La Mesa and 2009 Soldiers Grove. Then in ’15 and ’16…

I’m thinking we need some corporate sponsorship. Which may mean that we have to agree on a single brand of bourbon to see us through for a while.

          • EDIT: There was an awful lot of booze involved, but I think maybe that Rufus and Angelico stopped in La Mesa in ’15, so that was good.

      Quin–Yes!

Every time I see another Lena Dunham hit piece, I have to recall the reasons I made myself stop commenting on blogs. Because I say stupid, stupid things.

Regarding the link: yes, pregnancy is sexy, and we’ve always known that, really. But in slim-fit, sheer, comb-cottoned panties? Va-va-varrrroooom!
