    An apt analogy. It makes sense that pointing the nose down to gain airspeed is what’s needed. On the other hand, too much in the way of austerity measures might be like cutting off power to the engines and that’s going to end in disaster, too.

  2. Yeah, austerity without growth oriented policies seems to be what we had in the Great Depression. I’m glad we’re not Europe. Thanks for the comment.

        Good gravy. That could have been written by the little old lady in Dubuque, the tone was so wide-eyed. How far did the NYer have to search for a New Yorker unfamiliar with “the balls”? Good for them. I can almost imagine Wallace Shawn giving that piece the green light. And that’s saying something.
