Hi All
Thank you for inviting me to guest blog on Korrektiv. I will try to be hopeful and uplifting.
Matthew, Since you are in need of lenten direction, I was filmed a few years back giving a word to some pilgrims. I was against it at the time, but I was overcome by a wave of charity. I think you will find the message motivational and inspiring.
Book Two For Lent!

Father Zossima meets Ghost Dog.
Did you put on weight?
Dessert?
The reference to stone walls reminds me I couldn’t find Michael’s number to get him to come and sort out that mess in front. He said he could build me a sky scraper, he said he employed 150 men, but he only brought along that one gormless young man and the neighbours are jeering. Actually, it looks nice.
I meant brick, not stone. I had to pay extra for them to find some bricks.
Thanks for posting, nice video.
I am so excited to hear more from the Cubeland Mystic. (And I second the motion “Book Two for Lent,” if that means that Matthew writes/finishes/publishes/makes available his second book during Lent. But okay, fine, I’ll drop it.)
Speaking of books, Cubeland Mystic, I thought you might appreciate one forthcoming, written by a friend of mine. I have read an early copy and I cherish it. I think you, as one who dwells in the desert, might like it too: The Man Who Quit Money.

(I don’t know how to embed links.)
Example:
[a href="http://www.vatican.va/latin/latin_index.html"]The Vatican website has a Latin section.[/a]
appears as
The Vatican website has a Latin section.
when you replace [ with .
Erm, that is to say,
when you replace [ with .
Right, the computer has not been showing what I’ve been typing. Too clever by half.
What I’ve been trying to say is: Replace the [square brackets] from the example
[a href="http://www.vatican.va/latin/latin_index.html"]The Vatican website has a Latin section.[/a]
with chevrons.
Hope that makes sense!
Thank you, Angelico. I salute you.
All in a day’s work!
Similarly, you make bold, italic, or strikethrough text like so –
[b]text goes here[/b]
[i]text goes here[/i]
[strike]text goes here[/strike]
– again, replacing the square brackets with chevrons.
And if you want to do an indented block quotation, the code (again, of course, swapping in chevrons for square brackets) is –
[blockquote]
[p]first paragraph text goes here.[/p]
[p]second paragraph text goes here.[/p]
[p]third paragraph, etc.[/p]
[/blockquote]
Expat et al. may have other arcane powers, like embedding YouTube videos. But what you see here is all the fire I’ve managed to steal from Olympus. Use it in good health!
I don’t know why some of us can embed YouTube videos in the comments and others can’t. But I would suggest using [em] instead of [i] for italics.
Thank you kindly, ma’am!
I’m curious about what makes [em] superior to [i]. Is there a practical benefit? Is it just more elegant coding for some reason? Or simply ineffable?
Hi Ellen
Thank you I do know about that book. I saw it on your site. That is a very interesting life he is leading. I saw another book a long time ago that was very appealing called Your Money or Your Life. It was very practical as I recall.
Thanks C.M.
