Today in Porn, When Entertainment Trumps Morality Edition

The Onion‘s A.V. Club takes up the question of entertainment that you enjoy despite your petty moral qualms.  Countdown to mention of Japanese rape porn in 3…2…1…

The discussion gets graphic.  I’m not really suggesting that anyone else go wander through it.

Unintentionally hilarious – Nathan Rabin: Feminist, R. Kelly Fan, possibly the whitest-sounding R&B fan ever.

  2. So…conflicted…

  3. And the rest too – libs it sounds like to a man, er, person.

    What would mine sound like?

“I secretly can’t get enough of The View. So…stimulating. Especially Babbs.”

Or maybe: “I loved Reds…and what’s more…I’ve seen it 20 times and I WANTED THE COMMIES TO WIN EVERY TIME!”

Or this: “I own a Silkwood movie poster – thumbtacked to the bottom of my bed.”

I was wondering what entertainment would look like if they made it in conformance with their “morals.” Songs and movies about driving your hybrid volvo to the organic farm co-op? Books about empowered feminists coming to terms with their body-image while shopping for antiques?

I looked in vain for references to rape porn. Kinda glad I didn’t find any.

  6. I agree, that was a weakness in the film. Still, it won all kinds of Academy Awards and shit. And besides, what redeems the film? THE COMMIES WIN IN THE END!
