The words are empire and desire. In the article referred to in the previous post, one thing I liked in particular was the transmogrification of “enlightenment philosophy” into “the conquering empire of light and reason” and then finally into an “empire of desire” – which sounds like a good name for a bad novel. Or maybe just two words in a poem.
Something for that JOB guy to work on, maybe. And if he can find a way to fit “transmogrification” in there as well … score one more for the lights of traditional poetry, if not civilization.
Transmogrification? Can anyone do better than Bill Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes?
No. Calvin and Hobbes cannot be bettered.
