Thanks for the review. Not having read the book, I can’t comment on what the “hm” moments were, but I can say that doctrine often seems to lag behind coversion (if it catches up at all). I sometimes wonder if my conversion would have happened so easily if I hadn’t been attending a “come as you are” parish. Wrapping one’s mind around orthodoxy takes a back seat to those moments of epiphany and joy. However, taking the time to come around and understand the Church and its teachings makes that joy all the more profound.
