‘G.K. CHESTERTON’ TO PERFORM OCT. 7 AT GONZAGA UNIVERSITY AS PART OF CATHOLICISM & CULTURE SERIES

As a part of this year’s Catholicism & Culture Lecture Series, Gonzaga University will welcome Chuck Chalberg as G.K. Chesterton in a hilarious one-person show at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7 in the Cataldo Hall Globe Room at Gonzaga.

This event, sponsored by the Catholicism & Culture Lecture Series at Gonzaga University, is free and open to the public.

Chesterton has traveled across the seas from England to offer his own unique views on everything from the virtues of things small, whether families or pubs, to the evils of things large, whether they be imperialist schemes or socialist states.

Gilbert Keith Chesterton was born in London on May 29, 1874. While he considered himself merely a “rollicking journalist,” he was a talented and prolific writer in nearly every area of literature. His exuberant personality allowed him to maintain warm friendships with famous people of his time – including H. G. Wells and George Bernard Shaw – with whom he strongly disagreed.

According to those organizing his presentation, Chalberg will surprise and confound you while also provoking your thoughts.

I’m thinking he may have been a bit smelly back in the day.
