    Wonderful. Reminds me of that passage from Thomas Merton where he describes being on leave from the monastery and finding himself standing on a streetcorner in New York or some place. He’s overwhelmed with love for everyone he sees around him.

    Rufus, it’s Louisville, not NYC. One of my favorite stories. I told one of my gen ed theology classes that story, and ended with “you know, sometimes I think you are like that too–holy, and shining like the sun.” They all looked at me with “huh. She’s crazy, but in a NICE way….”
