Not such as men are today

What’s that? Find a stand of spruce, fell my own logs, build a cabin, build furniture, mortar up a fireplace, hunt and grow my own food, and survive in the Alaskan wilderness without electricity or gas for 30 years? No problem!

It’s well worth seeing, if you’ve got the inclination…Here’s a sample.

I thought this had to do with the freezer undies when I saw the name of the website.

If you’re into this sort of thing, I’d recommend “Into the Wild” by Kirkauer (sp?).

  2. Notrelatedtoted says

Into living in the wild, that is. The book has nothing to do with frozen underwear.

  3. Notrelatedtoted says

    Third times the charm!

    Here’s some linkage

  4. Notrelatedtoted says

Wow. I really butchered the author’s name.

    I’m leaving now.

  5. Matthew Lickona says

I’d say my man was a good deal more stable, less reckless. He didn’t head out until he was nearly fifty, and he knew what he was doing, and he kept support lines to the world…

  6. Tom Craughwell says

But Netflix still delivers out there, right?

  7. cubeland mystic says

He and his wife also practiced NFP.

I saw this too on PBS.

  8. AnotherCoward says

Great idea, Matt. How much do I need to contribute to be a part of the GodsBody Wilderness retreat society?

Will we purchase land up in Alaska, or will we settle for some remote acreage of JOB’s to build our little lodge?

  9. Matthew Lickona says

Don’t tempt me. But I think you’ve hit upon an excellent notion in heading up to darkest Wisconsin for this little retreat…

  10. Matthew Lickona says

We’ll get Netflix to airdrop our monthly 8-pack. And we’ll set up a bicycle generator to power the TV. We’ll have to take shifts powering it up.
